End the School to Prison Pipeline Conference 2025 – Event Summary

The 2025 End the School to Prison Pipeline (ESTPP) Conference, hosted by the Athens Anti-Discrimination Movement, was a powerful gathering of educators, activists, youth leaders, and community members committed to dismantling systemic barriers that criminalize students—particularly those from marginalized communities.

Held September 13th, 2025, Hotel Abacus  295 E Dougherty St, Athens, GA 30601 (Time To Be Announced), this year’s conference focuses on the theme “Educate, Empower, and Advocate.” The event features a dynamic lineup of workshops, panel discussions, youth presentations, and keynote speakers that addresses critical issues including racial disparities in school discipline, restorative justice practices, trauma-informed education, youth rights, and community-led solutions to systemic injustice.

Highlights included:

  • Know Your Rights Workshops: Equipping students and families with tools to navigate the school system and confront discrimination.

  • Educator & Parent Forums: Focused on building collaborative school cultures, alternatives to suspension, and advocating for equitable policies.

  • Community Action Sessions: Participants co-created solutions and action plans to hold institutions accountable and advocate for educational justice.

AADM reaffirmed its commitment to advocacy, education, and youth empowerment—and to building a future where all students can learn, grow, and thrive without the threat of criminalization.
