Justice and Accountability Meetings- Wednesdays

Join us for the next Justice & Accountability Committee (JAC) meeting on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 via Zoom 5:00-6:30 PM. Moving forward, we will meet on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd Wednesdays of each month (self-care break-every 4th Wednesday).

Have you reviewed the FY26 Mayor’s Recommended Budget? The budget will be up for discussion and public comment at the upcoming Mayor & Commission Agenda Setting Meeting on Tuesday, May 20 at 6:00 PM, held at City Hall, 301 College Avenue.

This is a critical opportunity to advocate for a budget that truly reflects our community’s needs.

We must call on our local government to prioritize investment in social services—including housing, mental health care, and youth development—as a proven strategy to reduce incarceration and save taxpayer dollars by addressing root causes, not just the symptoms.

We also need to ensure the FY26 budget includes adequate funding for the “Addressing Racial Inequities” resolution, in the key areas of:

• Affordable Housing
• Economic development for historically underserved and underrepresented businesses
• Youth Safety & Opportunity
