Athens People’s Movement Assembly

Athens People’s Movement Assembly

Our communities are under attack—from systemic racism, economic inequality, state violence, and policies that strip us of our basic rights. In this critical moment, we must come together to build collective power and align ourselves around a shared strategy to resist injustice and create the world we all deserve.

The Athens Anti-Discrimination Movement invites you to join our People’s Movement Assembly, a space rooted in the tradition of grassroots democracy and collective liberation.

This assembly will bring together community members, organizers, leaders, and advocates to listen, share, strategize, and build unity across movements. Together, we will work toward short-term wins, medium-term campaigns, and long-term transformative change.

A People’s Movement Assembly, as defined by Project South, is more than a meeting—it is a democratic gathering where communities unite to:

  • Create and coordinate collective actions, campaigns, and strategic agendas that respond to our immediate needs while also building long-term visions for justice.

  • Develop a collective political analysis of the current moment to better understand the systemic root causes of the issues harming our communities.

  • Dream, envision, and plan for the world we want to live in—and take concrete steps to make that vision a reality.

Now is the time to rise in solidarity. Join us as we resist oppression, amplify our collective voice, and lay the foundation for a just and liberated future.
