Join us for a community discussion designed to help residents understand how Flock Safety license plate reader cameras are being used, what information may be collected when your vehicle passes a camera, and how that information can be searched or accessed.
This educational session will help community members learn how to check whether their license plate may have been searched, how to request public records related to Flock camera activity, and what questions to ask if you believe your information was accessed.
We’ll also discuss:

What information they collect about vehicles
Who may have access to Flock data
How searches of license plates can be documented
How to request records and review available audit logs
What to do if you discover your plate was searched
Privacy, accountability, and community safety concerns surrounding surveillance technology
The goal of this discussion is simple: educate the community so people understand the technology being used around them, know what questions to ask, and know how to seek information about their own vehicle data.

Note: A representatives from the Athens-Clarke County Police Department will be in attendance to answer questions from community members regarding the department’s use of Flock cameras, policies governing access to the system, safeguards against misuse, and oversight of license plate reader data.
