MOVEMENT equity & Leadership institute

The Athens Anti-Discrimination Movement (AADM) believes education is the foundation for reducing repeat harm and building community demand for enforcement and policy change. That’s why the Athens Anti-Discrimination Movement is committed to advancing racial and social justice through education, advocacy, and cultivate the next generation of community leaders through the Movement Equity & Leadership (MEL) Institute . We equip individuals, schools, and employers with the knowledge, tools, and support they need to understand anti-discrimination laws, uphold rights, foster equitable environments & leadership.

Building on years of advocacy, education, and community organizing, the Movement Equity & Leadership Institute represents the next phase of AADM’s work—moving beyond crisis response to leadership development, prevention, and long-term community impact.

The Institute will offer accessible, trauma-informed training that equips participants with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to address discrimination, protect civil rights, and lead change within their communities.

What we offer?

Practical, skills-based workshops and training sessions that empower individuals, educators, nonprofit teams, and community leaders to better engage diverse communities, strengthen communication, and build trust across cultural lines. We equip students with the knowledge, tools, and support they need to understand anti-discrimination laws, uphold rights, navigate challenging situations, foster equitable environments and serve communities with confidence and respect. Each session is designed to create immediate impact and long-term change.

Through a combination of virtual learning and mobile, community-based workshops, the Institute ensures that leadership development is available to those most impacted by inequity.

If you’re seeking to strengthen your team’s effectiveness, expand Know Your Rights knowledge, build leadership skills, or help create safer, more inclusive, and empowered communities request a (MEL) training session or register for more information.
