The Athens Anti-Discrimination Movement (AADM) offers several different services, programs, and resources designed to help citizens protect their civil and human rights. Click on the blue links below to see our organization’s offerings.
Discrimination & Human Rights Complaint
If you have been discriminated against, believe your rights have been violated, or have been mistreated in the workplace, public place, or by law enforcement, you can file a complaint with the AADM. We provide:
Advocacy Support & Resources: Share Your Story
If you believe your rights have been violated, we can provide a platform to help amplify your voice and offer resources such as legal referrals and Know Your Rights workshops to help you protect your civil and human rights. Once you file a complaint with us, an AADM representative will reach out to you within 24-48 hours to complete an intake and provide feedback/recommendations.
Education & Trainings
We provide trainings and workshops to empower and dismantle patterns of racism & injustice within our communities, schools, the workplace, and law enforcement. We deliver professional training, consultation, and resources to support individuals or organizations striving for racial justice and equity.
Know Your Rights Workshops & Legal Clinics
We provide workshops and legal clinics on topics that we repeatedly see in our community. We partner with local attorneys and paralegals knowledgable on the topic to provide education on protecting your rights and assist with any paperwork related to your situation.
Youth Justice Programs
End School to Prison Pipeline (ESTPP) Program
The End School to Prison Pipeline (ESTPP) program aims to reduce juvenile incarceration and high school drop out rates by offering mentorship, community service, and FREE leadership courses for at-risk youth and young adults.
Teen Social Justice Apprenticeship & Travel Summer Program
The Teen Social Justice program is focused on helping students gain hands-on job experience, career mentorship, travel, and leadership skills.
Criminal Justice Reform
Do you need community service for your college application, for your resume, or to meet court-ordered requirements? AADM provides community service opportunities to help reduce recidivism rates, address the ongoing issue of mass incarceration, and encourage folks to get involved in our community.
To address the issue of mass incarceration, AADM provides financial assistance for juvenile and adult offenders. The AADM supports those having trouble paying fines and fees associated with their legal issues. We also provide financial assistance for Transitional Housing to prevent evictions and homelessness, hotel vouchers. financial assistant for Transitional Housing.
