Class of 2022 Graduation Caravan

Athens, GA – The Athens Anti-Discrimination Movement (AADM) will host a caravan-style graduation celebration for all Athens-Clarke County high school graduates on May 22, 2022 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm. All Athens 2022 high school graduates are welcome to attend!

In 2020, the AADM first hosted this event when many school activities, including high school graduations, were canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Now due to high demand, the Graduation Caravan is back! Graduation is a time to celebrate, and AADM would like to recognize the accomplishments and uplift the spirits of the Class of 2022 in a safe and fun way.

We will have special guest speakers, live performances by Kxng Blanco and The League of Step, and prizes for students specially selected by their instructors and counselors!

All participants must pre-register:

In order to keep everyone safe, we ask that all participants limit themselves to 1 vehicle per graduate. This includes cars, trucks, vans, etc. Family and friends must ride with the graduate in the same vehicle.

Don’t forget to decorate your car and bring signs!

What to Expect:

3:00 pm: Students and parents will meet at the Athens Community Career Academy.

3:30 pm: Departure- Students will drive through the City and arrive at Athens City Hall (the parade route will be provided the day of the event)

4:00 pm: Recognition ceremony at City Hall- The names of all registered graduates will be announced at the event.

4:30 pm: Guest speakers, live performances by Kxng Blanco and The League of Step, and prizes will be awarded to specially selected graduates

5:00 pm: Closure
