Donate: TSJ Travel To Wander Memory Trail

AADM Teen Social Justice club travels 3-4 times per year. This is an opportunity for students to travel while learning about history and culture. In November 2019, we will take several students to visit “The Wanderer Memory Trail” in Jekyll Island.  “The Wanderer Memory Trail tells the story of America’s last known slave ship, the Wanderer. The trail is located along the banks of the Jekyll River where the ship illegally came ashore 160 years ago with more than 500 enslaved Africans. Made up of individual exhibits, the trail walks visitors through the story of Umwalla, a young African boy brought to America on the ship.”

AADM Teen Social Justice After School Club is available at Clarke Central High School on Tuesday’s in partnership with Black Culture Club  3:30-5 pm and Clarke Middle School on Wednesday’s 3:30-5:30 pm. Teen Social Justice initiative is supported by the End School to Prison Pipeline Program.

Please donate to support TSJ afterschool club. Help us continue doing hard but good work.
