AADM Receives Communities Transforming Policing Fund Grant

This summer, the Athens Anti-Discrimination Movement (AADM) was awarded a 3-year Community Transforming Policing Fund (CTPF) grant from Borealis Philanthropy. The CTPF granted $3.9 million to 26 “small and emerging grassroots organizing groups led primarily by Black, Indigenous, and People of Color who have been directly impacted by policing and the criminal legal system”.

The CTPF is a “donor collaborative that works to resource local communities impacted by deadly and discriminatory policing practices to build power, increase police accountability and transparency, and redefine safety by advocating for investment in community-based programs and services as alternatives to police, jails, and prisons”.

AADM will use these funds to further their work addressing police misconduct, rates and events of violence, incarceration numbers, and police/municipal policy.
