Athens, Ga – The Athens Anti-Discrimination Movement will host a post-election party at Hendershots on May 30 at 6 pm. Among those confirmed to speak in a panel discussion and Q&A session, attendees can expect to see Athens newly elected Mayor Kelly Girtz, District 2 Commissioner Mariah Parker, District 7 Commissioner-Elect Russell Edwards, District 3 Commissioner Melissa Link, and one of the two candidates for the District 10 U.S. House seat – Tabitha Johnson-Green and more.
After a historic sweep in local elections, a nearly full slate of progressive officials promises to occupy City Hall in January, including three sitting black commissioners for the first time.
